House Picture Needed, 168 Concord Street
Modern alterations, particularly the siding on the house, have obscured any architectural significance this farm might possess. The carriage barn remains unaltered. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE This is one of very few surviving working farms in Rockland. It was probably built by Thomas Murphy, who farmed this land from sometime between 1867 and 1874, to as late as 1909. The farmhouse and outbuildings are located just south of Rockland center, surrounded by modern housing development. The property is historically interesting as the site of the Stockbridge Farm in the eighteenth century. The house at 244 market Street was originally located here.
