A. 1745 House Update:
-RHC will schedule regular updates on the 1745 House progress to the BOS (likely to be quarterly). Peter will get on the BOS agenda for the July meeting, and coordinate with John Rogers and Jerry to appear.
-John Rogers wants to rip out dormers, since they are causing leakage problem and do not appear to be original to the house. Jerry's conversations with Bobby Clarke indicate his preference to just do a quick, inexpensive repair to the flashing and shingles. Jerry will discuss options with Bobby Clarke again. RHC approved motion to follow Clark's recommendation and appropriate reasonable amount of $$ to
cover cost when the time comes. Further approval For actual amount will be necessary .
-The Delprete dumpster still sits on property, although well past 30 days.
At some point Delprete will haul away and replace-Jerry will check on timeframe so we make sure the dumpster is full.
-Steve Miller built a very nice door, but slightly large for the cellar entrance. Door could be used elsewhere. Peter will ask Steve if he is willing to build another: if not, Peter will build.
-Jerry is pursuing donations from Pasta Lavista and Cataloni's.
B. Web Site www.historicrockland.com:
-Jerry has set up several business links. When user clicks on the business button, it pops into a business card-like promotion.
-Suggestion to write up Rockland Historical Society promotional letter to determine level of interest. Also advertise on WRPS. (see New Business for further discussion).
C. RHC Sign Hingham and Webster St) -Weed killer was sprayed on June 27, and new soil will be added soon with fertilizer. Knights of Columbus will cover the cost of the loam and Rockland garden will plant.
D. Subcommittee on 125th Capsule -GAR materials needed for inclusion in capsule. George will talk to Dean or Tim to see what we can get to include in the capsule.
-Target date for the ceremony is still late September/October.
E. DAR Plague -On June 29th there will be a DAR Board meeting at which time discussion] of the plaque will be discussed. Following the meeting Peter will get an update from Deb Cormier to see what the next step is.
Apparently there is a significant amount of paperwork/approvals which have to be completed before the plaque is transferred to RHC's care.
