4. Old Business:
A. 1745 House Update:
-Discussed creation of a Certificate of Appreciation for all business donors. All donors should, at a minimum, receive a thank you letter from the RHC.
-Also agreed to schedule regular appearances (quarterly?) in front of BOS to provide update on the progress of the restoration. Suggestion that any RHC members and John Rogers appear.
-Peter delivered 3 2"XI0" 20 foot joists purchased from Home Depot.
Jerry and John Rogers were able to rip them down to 2"X8" and install in

the basement. They have been working frequently over the past several Saturdays, and John has also been working occasionally during the week.
-Bobby Clarke (Clarke Builders) inspected dormers and recommended that they be repaired with flashing/roofing.
-Discussion of clearing trees from the rear of the house to open up the canopy and allow light in to dry the area. Also to decrease the amount of pine needles.
-Steve to finish and put on the door for the cellar.

B. Web Site www.historicrockland.com:
-Jerry has been working on updating the website. Begun listing all business donors.
-Website generated request from Joe McCulloch from Boston Historical Home Listings to solicit listings for home sales. RHC decided that this was not appropriate for us to be involved in.
-Jerry discussed the availability of the MHC database for all house survey listings in Rockland. This would be easier to list houses than building a front end to access our database. Could have same functionality to track houses, search by data fields, etc.
-For now, Jerry will keep links to Rockland-related sites and historical sites. Eventually, may need to weed out unrelated sites. Also, we want to provide links to those businesses that have helped us with donations and perhaps feature them separately from the other links.

C. RHC Sign (Hingham and Webster St) -Jerry cleared the location of weeds, awaiting treatment to prevent further weed growth. Rockland Gardens is very busy at this time of year, so we are awaiting the collection of all the bulbs before planting the island.
-Jerry will review the sign specifics with Larry Chafee- include dimensions, type of sign, etc. Following approval of Town Meeting article, height of sign restriction has been lowered. Currently, the sign is planned to be approx. 60" wide and 25" tall.
-Currently there are 2 sponsors for the sign- Rockland Garden and K of C.

D. Subcommittee on 125th Capsule -GAR materials needed for inclusion in capsule- awaiting assistance from Tim. If needed, we can also get in touch with Dean Sergeant.
-Re-affirmed previous RHC vote to include a bronze 125th coin in the capsule. Peter currently is caretaker of the 125th coins.

E. DAR Plague - There has been a change in location for the plaque. Upon request from the DAR, they would prefer the RHC to locate it in a more protected and publicly accessible spot. RHC voted that a spot in front of the 1745 House would be available.
-DAR is meeting in June in a closed Board meeting. Peter will keep in touch with Deb Cormier to await the next step in the process of turning the plaque over to RHC.

5. New Business:
A. Trolleys for Holiday Tour of Historic Rockland -Discussion that the running of a trolley route for the tour would be a great idea. Need to look into a sponsorship.

I \ C. Summer Schedule , -Meetings will be on July 25th and August 22.

6. Correspondence -Jerry received some info from MHC regarding preservation how-to's .
Focusing on local bylaws and ordinances.

B. Elections/ Al2l2ointments -Annual RHC appointments at the June 17 meeting of the BOS. Current applicants are Peter and Lori Fair (Union St). This still leaves 2 unfilled slots.
