Rockland Historic Commission Meeting Minutes 9 January 2003
Those members in attendance were: Peter Dow, Tim Woodard John Burrows. Lori Fair, and George Dearth (Associate).
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:22 PM.
2. Minutes: The Minutes of the 19 December 2002 were approved.
3. Treasurer's report:
-General: $623.14 -Donation: $1,088.30 ~Postal $19.59 -Receivables: $1,609 .00 -Payables: $-175.00 - Total $3,340.03
3. Old Business:
A. 1745 House Update No new discussion
B. Web Site www.historicrockland.com Update - No new discussion
C. RHC Sign ( Hingham and Webster St) - No new discussion
4. New Business:
A New Publishing Project - General review of2001 proposal to publish photo-documentary of Rockland. Arcadia is a publisher
of local and regional interest books, an< many Massachusetts towns (including Abington) have already published.
- Members supportive of idea. but concerned about meeting time commitment and gathering enough resources- both
photos/documentation or and personal history
- Suggestion were made to visit the Council on Aging to get Insight from the Town's elderly population.
Also, visit local establishments such as churches and banks to see what material may be available for us to use.
- Tim will visit the Dyer Library and scout availability of material. Pete!
will re-establish contact with Arcadia and discuss reviving the project.
